Depression Alliance Scotland is looking for ways to increase the involvement of service users in its work. If you would be interested in helping to form a user group, which would involve attending one or two meetings per year, please do contact us. We hope that we can also recruit Board members from the users group in due course.If you know of others who might be interested, please pass these details on. Depression Alliance Scotland is also recruiting a part-time Group Development Officer to work in Glasgow on the START project, developing our self-help support groups and building links with the primary care mental health teams in the Greater Glasgow area. We would also like to recruit a volunteer facilitator for our Edinburgh self-help support group. The group meets fortnightly in the evenings in the city centre. Experience or understanding of depression is required and training in group facilitation is provided. Great Scottish Walk
Don't forget that DAS is a registered charity with the Great Scottish Walk - an excellent way to keep fit and active and support us at the same time! The walk takes place on 19th June in Edinburgh. National Programme for Improving Mental Health and Wellbeing
The Scottish Executive's National Programme for Improving Mental Health and Wellbeing's annual report has been published. In September 2003 the Executive launched the National Programme's three-year plan and this report tells of the progress over the first 12 months in areas such as improving health in workplaces, schools, local neighbourhoods and communities.
