Support
Self-Help Support Groups
We run self help support groups in various parts of Scotland. They offer people affected by depression the opportunity for confidential local support, contact with others in a similar situation and the opportunity to explore positive ways of coping with depression. Anyone who has depression is welcome to come along to a group.
Helpline
Our information service offers support and information on depression to individuals, their families and friends and professionals working with people who have depression. The telephone line is 0845 123 23 20. It is currently open 10am to 2pm Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday (closed on Wednesday). You can also contact our information service by email, via the contact form on this website or by writing to us at 11 Alva St, Edinburgh EH2 4PH. If you need help now, visit our crisis page.
Information
Publications
We produce a number of publications about depression. These include posters, flyers and factsheets. Single copies of our publications are free and there is a small charge for multiple copies of our publications. Download or order publications.

Newsletter and E-bulletin
Our popular newsletter is published quarterly and contains articles of interest to those affected by depression and their friends and family. The newsletter is free to individuals resident in Scotland, just fill in this form to become a supporter and join our mailing list. Back copies of the newsletter can be downloaded here. You can also sign up to get our regular e-bulletin.

DAS on the web
As well as this website with its information about depression we have launched www.lookokfeelcrap.org which is aimed at young adults and complements our Look OK... Feel Crap? campaign. Check it out!
Campaigning
It is important not to forget that depression is a serious illness that severely affects the life of those affected and those around them and may in some cases lead to severe self-neglect or suicide. Depression Alliance Scotland campaigns to raise awareness of depression, to improve the support available for those affected by depression and to tackle the stigma that surrounds the condition.
Scottish National Depression Week

Training and Awareness Raising
We provide training in self-help skills for people affected by depression and practitioners. We also are available to give presentations to employers and groups who work with people affected by depression. More information about Depression Alliance Scotland training.
Living Life to the Full
Depression Alliance Scotland is a supporter of Living Life to the Full, a life skills training course based on cognitive behavioural therapy.
